Dadai releases the single “Rios de Água Viva”, blending folk and world music in a song about overcoming challenges and inner rediscovery.
Singer-songwriter Dadai introduces the single “Rios de Água Viva” to the public. The track, marked by its sonic delicacy, invites the listener to a contemplative experience. Released on December 24, the song proposes a necessary pause amidst the fast pace of contemporary life, uniting emotion and artistic sensitivity.
Overcoming transformed into art
Behind the melody’s softness lies a story of resilience. In 2023, Danilo Baracho, known artistically as Dadai, faced the diagnosis of a tumor located between his heart and lung. During treatment, music ceased to be merely a craft and became a vital refuge.
The artist immersed himself in the creative process as a means of internal reorganization. He began singing lessons and started composing with greater intensity. According to the musician, every melody created during this period carried truth and served as a space to “breathe” while traversing moments of uncertainty.
Improvisation and organic sound
The composition of “Rios de Água Viva” was born spontaneously. During an improvisation session with drummer Mateus Macedo, the song emerged guided by mutual listening, without prior planning. The lyrics flowed that same night, bringing a metaphor about allowing life to follow its natural course.
Musically, the work bridges folk and world music. Sergio Merino’s production highlights violin and flute arrangements, creating a cinematic soundscape. The music video, filmed at sunrise at Boa Viagem Beach in Recife, visually reinforces this proposal of light and new beginnings.
