Davi Cartaxo presents “Pretexto”, a new single that marks a mature phase in his career.
One month after releasing “Pequena”, which opened a new artistic chapter, Ceará-born singer and songwriter Davi Cartaxo announces “Pretexto”, his new single. The track arrives on digital platforms on November 21 and reinforces the artist’s evolution through a modern sound that blends Brazilian influences with pop elements.
The song is driven by contrasts, shifting between intimate vocals with soft instrumentation and energetic moments in which Davi uses a natural drive in his higher registers. The expressive vocal performance highlights the emotional depth of the track, which moves between low and high tones to enrich its dramatic dynamics.
The production presents distinct textures throughout the song in an organic and cohesive way. Following the direction of the previous single released in October, the work continues this more complex and mature stage of the artist’s career. Production is led by Gustavo Scaranelo from OddSounds.
“The composition of Pretexto began in early 2022 and was developed until it reached the studio to be produced and recorded. The track blends national and international references, and I believe we achieved a result that is mature and true to my artistic universe,” says Davi.
