Dilemba performs “Tudo que Sou” at Sesc 24 de Maio on January 15, blending Afro-Brazilian music, MPB and poetry with the Bahian sextet Aweto.
The theatre at Sesc 24 de Maio, in downtown São Paulo, hosts artist Dilemba on 15 January for the show “Tudo que Sou” (“All That I Am”), a concert that celebrates African roots and Black music in Brazil. On stage, the singer explores themes such as identity, ancestry, love, freedom and resistance, weaving together original songs, MPB reinterpretations and spoken word with a strong Afro-Brazilian identity.
Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, history teacher and Tata Kambondo in the Candomblé de Angola tradition, Dilemba has been active in Brazilian Popular Music for 28 years, with Black music as the guiding force in his career. His work draws on Afro-diasporic rhythms, spirituality and narratives of resistance, creating a live show that is at once celebration, storytelling and political statement.
At Sesc 24 de Maio, Dilemba is joined by the Aweto band, a Bahian sextet formed by two percussionists, a drummer, a keyboardist, a bassist and a guitarist. The group adds rhythmic depth and harmonic richness to “Tudo que Sou”, with arrangements that move between samba, ijexá, soul, funk and other Afro-Brazilian grooves.
Audiences can discover more of Dilemba’s work on streaming platforms and social media, where he shares albums, live recordings, music videos and reflections on Black culture, ancestry and everyday life. The Sesc concert expands this universe into a full-stage experience.
