Duda Ribeiro teared up returning to Portela’s Quadra after seven years to film “Onde Você Está” clip, a samba journey through 21 Rio neighborhoods chasing true love.
Heartfelt reunion at samba’s heart
Singer Duda Ribeiro kicked off shooting at Quadra da Portela, a spot tied to his roots. As a devoted Portela fan, stepping back in stirred deep memories.
“Starting this clip at Quadra da Portela was a reunion with my own story. Returning after so long, telling a love tale through samba, hit me hard,” he shares.
This song is about walking, searching, never giving up. I’d go to the ends of the earth for true love.
The video follows the character across Madureira, Santa Teresa, Lapa, Leblon, Vidigal, and Santo Cristo, among others. Each spot marks a step in the quest.
Portela legacy and samba triumphs
In 2002, Duda competed in Portela’s samba-enredo contest, reaching the finals. In 2018, he won quadra samba from 83 entries, earning the prestigious Zeca Pagodinho Trophy.
The project blends tradition with urban storytelling. Rio de Janeiro becomes the star, proving love crosses social and geographic divides.
