Recorded at Teatro Guarany, the remake of “Carrie” merges Brazilian roots and rock power through Edson’s emotional voice and Hudson’s guitar.
Brazilian duo Edson & Hudson released their powerful rendition of “Carrie,” the 1987 Europe hit. The new version honors the song’s emotional core while infusing it with their unique sound that blends sertanejo flair and rock intensity.
Edson’s rich voice captures the song’s bittersweet farewell feeling, while Hudson’s guitar—both precise and expressive—anchors the production with his trademark style. The arrangement bridges European rock lyricism and Brazilian emotion.
“Good music transcends genres. Performing ‘Carrie’ means respecting the original while adding our own truth,” says Edson.
The music video intensifies this emotional landscape. Shot at the historic Teatro Guarany in Santos, under Pedro Ferraro’s direction and Letícia Higa’s creative supervision, it uses Artificial Intelligence to animate ceiling paintings by Paulo Von Poser, turning the theater into a living part of the story.
Live debut and celebration
The live debut of “Carrie” will take place on March 20 at Espaço Unimed, São Paulo, marking the start of their tour celebrating 30 years of music. Tickets are nearly sold out.
“It will be a historic night. This song demands total emotional surrender, and we’re ready for it,” says Edson.
With “Carrie,” Edson & Hudson reaffirm their versatility and expand the boundaries of Brazilian music, bridging cultures and eras.
