The rapper joins Festival Movimento Cidade’s 2026 lineup, bringing one of Brazil’s most ambitious rap tours to Espírito Santo this August.
Some artists perform. Others redefine what a live performance can be. Emicida belongs to the second group — and it’s with that aesthetic and musical ambition that the rapper arrives at Festival Movimento Cidade, the largest integrated arts festival in Espírito Santo, for a show on Saturday, August 15, at Parque da Prainha, in Vila Velha.
A tour beyond the stage
The performance is part of the Emicida Racional MCMV Tour, a show that brings the universe of the album Emicida Racional VL 2 – Mesmas Cores & Mesmos Valores to the stage. More than a sequence of songs, the show is structured as a narrative: a meeting between generations of Brazilian rap, rooted in the work of Racionais MC’s and reinterpreted through the vision of one of contemporary music’s most sophisticated composers.
The tour’s name is no coincidence. “MCMV” carries a double meaning: it’s the acronym of the album and, at the same time, a reference to the year 1905 in Roman numerals — when Albert Einstein presented his Theory of Relativity. On stage, Emicida translates that idea into music. Time, space and perception become fluid, creating a sensory experience that shifts depending on who’s watching.
A setlist across generations
With musical direction by the artist himself, the show spans new tracks — including “Finado Neguim Memo?” and “Us Memo Preto Zica” — while revisiting career milestones, from the 2009 mixtape Pra Quem Já Mordeu um Cachorro por Comida, até que Eu Cheguei Longe… to the cultural landmark album AmarElo (2019). Arrangements are reworked, sonic layers deepen and the repertoire takes on a different weight in a live setting.
We made an incredible album, but what we experienced in the studio was transcendental. The challenge now is to bring that emotion to the stage and expand it. We want to reach the maximum of what an MC can be live and take it to the next level.
The gesture is also symbolic. The MCMV Tour serves as a direct tribute to Racionais MC’s — not only for their musical influence, but for the critical thinking they built that shaped Brazilian rap. The show is organized as a continuous thread where past, present and future intersect.
ES on the national tour circuit
By including Espírito Santo in the tour’s route — which covers major cities like São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba and Belo Horizonte — Movimento Cidade helps position the state in the national touring circuit. The show at Parque da Prainha also marks the closing date of the artist’s Southeast leg.
“By including Espírito Santo in the Emicida Racional MCMV Tour’s route, Movimento Cidade directly contributes to establishing the state in the national touring circuit. The show at Parque da Prainha also marks the closing date of the artist’s Southeast schedule, positioning the festival as an active player in the cultural decentralization movement and amplifying Espírito Santo’s role in Brazil’s music and arts calendar,” says co-director Luísa Costa.
Full three-day lineup
The festival has already confirmed a strong lineup across all three days. On Friday (Aug 14), free entry, the stage features Gaby Amarantos, Ajuliacosta, Ury Vieira and Roberta de Razão. On Saturday (Aug 15), Emicida headlines alongside Zeca Pagodinho, Urias, Budah — with the special project “Budah Convida” featuring Duquesa and more artists to be confirmed —, Fabriccio and O Kannalha. Sunday (Aug 16) closes with João Gomes, Marcelo D2 and Maré Tardia — over 15 acts spread across around 20 hours of programming.
New format and social access
For 2026, Movimento Cidade introduces a new format. The first day is free, with entry upon donation of 1 kg of non-perishable food — an initiative that has collected over 80 tonnes since 2022. Days 15 and 16 require paid tickets — daily or a two-day passport. Free tickets are also available for people in social vulnerability, including residents of communities supported by the Estado Presente program, transgender people and people with disabilities.
More acts are expected to be announced in the coming months for the 8th edition of Movimento Cidade.
