Carta de Adeus opens a new chapter for Fresno

Fresno kicks off the Carta de Adeus (Farewell Letter) tour in Porto Alegre. On May 16, the band takes the stage at Redenção Park for a free concert as part of the Semana S festival, organized by Sistema Fecomércio-RS/Sesc/Senac and IFEP. The setlist blends 2000s classics with brand-new songs from the upcoming album.

Formed by Lucas Silveira (guitar and vocals), Gustavo Mantovani (guitar), and Thiago Guerra (drums), Fresno has built 27 years of music rooted in human connection and artistic authenticity. Following the success of the Eu Nunca Fui Embora tour in 2024, the group returns to the city where it was founded with its most personal project yet.

Human creativity at the heart of the new album

The new record raises a timely question: in an age of artificial intelligence and automation, how many human hands does it take to build something meaningful? For Fresno, the answer lies in the people behind the music.

“With today’s technology, you can create without any direct human involvement at all. But what made us who we are — beyond our friendship — is the creative people around us who contribute to what we build. We want to honor and give voice to those collaborators.” — Lucas Silveira, frontman of Fresno

Returning to a historic stage

Playing at Redenção Park again carries deep meaning for the band. Back in 2007, Fresno performed there in a landmark show that shaped their artistic direction for years to come. Nearly two decades later, they return with a free concert for the city’s devoted fanbase.

“Coming back to the park after so many years, with a free show for such a loyal audience, means a great deal to us. Starting this new chapter with Carta de Adeus in Porto Alegre carries enormous symbolic weight — and it will surely be an unforgettable night.” — Fresno

Semana S brings free activities to the city

Beyond the concert, Semana S fills Farroupilha Park on May 15 and 16 with free programming in culture, education, health, leisure, and community services. All activities are open to the public as part of the social mission of Sistema Fecomércio-RS/Sesc/Senac and IFEP.
