Singer Gabriel Gonti launches “Descomplica” with a creative subway video in Rio, reaching over 2 million views in 48 hours.
Brazilian singer-songwriter Gabriel Gonti proved that creativity is still the key to connecting music and audience. His unusual video, recorded inside the Rio de Janeiro subway, quickly went viral, surpassing 2 million views in just two days.
In the footage, Gonti attached a phone camera outside the train using tape, capturing the light and movement between São Conrado and Jardim Oceânico stations. The result blends Rio’s urban rhythm with the soft atmosphere of “Descomplica”, featuring Anna Pêgo, serving as the perfect teaser for the official release.
“The impact was huge and it’s resonating beautifully for the music. Seeing this genuine reaction makes me really happy,” Gonti said.
Boosted by the viral video, the single earned a prominent spot on Spotify’s “Pop Leve” playlist. It is part of Gonti’s upcoming album “De Perto”, set to be released at the end of April.
While the viral showcases the energy of Rio’s streets, the official music video — already available on YouTube — explores a more intimate mood, filmed under moonlight in Belo Horizonte. This blend of urban and cozy reflects Gonti’s new artistic phase, ahead of his live show on March 29 at Bona Casa de Música, São Paulo.
