Gaby Amarantos on the GRAMMY broadcast
Born in Jurunas, a neighborhood in Belém, Pará, Gaby Amarantos has become one of the most influential voices in contemporary Brazilian music. She boosted her international profile after winning a 2023 Latin Grammy for Best Roots Music Album in the Portuguese Language with “TecnoShow”.
In 2025, she pushed her sound further with “Rock Doido”, a project rooted in the energy of Brazil’s “aparelhagens” culture and her deep connection to tecnobrega. Her career also includes standout collaborations with icons like Elza Soares, Ney Matogrosso, and Alcione, alongside newer names such as Lauana Prado, Viviane Batidão, and Jaloo.
Beyond music, Amarantos has worked as an actress and TV presenter, including a stint on “Troca de Estilos” on Discovery Home & Health. She is also known for speaking up on issues tied to the Amazon, women’s rights, Black communities, and LGBTQI+ rights, aligning her public voice with her creative work.
