Brazilian rock band Inimigos do Rei make their comeback on April 14 at Teatro PRIO in Rio, premiering new show “Vem Kafka Comigo!” and single “Medo.”
One of Brazil’s most provocative rock acts is officially back. On April 14, 2026, Inimigos do Rei take the stage at Teatro PRIO, inside the iconic Jockey Club in the Leblon neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, for the live debut of their brand-new show “Vem Kafka Comigo!” (roughly, “Come Kafka With Me!”). Doors open for an 8 PM start, and the setlist promises a bold mix of classic hits and new material.
“Medo”: A Song About the Fear of Going Broke
At the heart of the show is “Medo” (Fear), the band’s new single released on March 13, written by Luiz Guilherme (lyrics) and Marcus Lyrio (music). The track channels the very real dread of running out of money before the month ends — a universal anxiety wrapped in sharp, good-humored rock. Originally written in 2006 and first performed at Rio’s legendary Circo Voador, the song returns with renewed urgency.

The frontman describes “Medo” as a “vertical” song — one that cuts across social classes, cultural backgrounds, and political affiliations. “It’s the fear of not having enough money to make it through the month. Whether it’s stretching your paycheck, a dried-up allowance, or bills pushed aside. Who hasn’t been there?”, he says. He frames it as “a good-humored and universal reaction to a world that demands challenging financial performances from all of us.”

“Vem Kafka Comigo!” taps into the collective unconscious of a complex, plural country living under constant financial pressure — a theme that gives the new single its conceptual backbone. The current lineup features Luiz Guilherme (vocals), Luiz Nicolau (vocals), Lourival Franco (keyboards), Marcelo Crelier (bass), Marcelo Marques (drums), and Marcus Lyrio (guitar).
