Jazz no Sobrado closes 2025 with tribute to Charlie Parker

Jazz no Sobrado celebrates Charlie Parker on Saturday and closes the year with a Roda de Chorinho on Sunday, at Sobrado da Cidade.

The Jazz no Sobrado project presents its final performance of 2025 this Saturday, December 27, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Sobrado da Cidade in downtown Rio de Janeiro. This special edition concludes the year with a tribute to Charlie Parker, one of the most influential figures in jazz history.

On stage, musicians Tino Jr. (saxophone), Ciro Magnani (keyboard), Adrian Barbet (bass) and Roberto Rutigliano (drums) will perform classics like “Little Suede Shoes” and “White Christmas”, delivering musical sophistication and an intimate atmosphere, trademarks of the project.

On Sunday, December 28, Sobrado da Cidade continues its final cultural weekend of the year with the beloved Roda de Chorinho, ringing in the new year with authentic Brazilian sounds. Born in Rio de Janeiro in the 19th century, choro is among Brazil’s most refined genres, known for its intricate melodies and space for improvisation.

The performance turns lunch into an affectionate and engaging experience, featuring works by Pixinguinha, Jacob do Bandolim, Waldir Azevedo and Chiquinha Gonzaga, among other masters.

Located in a historic mansion on Rua do Rosário, Sobrado da Cidade combines culture, live music and gastronomy, turning weekends into a complete cultural experience.
