Celebrating 25 years of his career, composer João Marcondes presents the album “Andean Airs”, available on digital platforms from November 28.
The work blends the artist’s Brazilian roots with the sounds, myths, and landscapes of Latin America, focusing on Peruvian and Bolivian culture.
Inspired by the Andes, the album features traditional instruments like flutes and charango, evoking the mountain range and the continent’s ancestral imagination.
Composed for solo harp, the album is dedicated to Argentine harpist Sole Yaya, who interprets pieces reflecting the influence of Peru’s Montaña de Siete Colores.
The release also includes a harp and violin series, performed by Ricardo Takahashi, exploring the connection between sound, spirituality, and musical expression as a form of perceiving the “voice of God”.
“Andean Airs” celebrates Marcondes’ 25-year journey, consolidating his commitment to music deeply rooted in land, landscape, and human experience.
