Brazil’s Jovem Dionisio releases their third studio album — recorded fully live, no autotune — and tours in a converted Scania bus-stage across public squares.
An album captured like a concert
Migalhas (“Crumbs”), the new record by Jovem Dionisio, was recorded over two weeks with all five band members playing simultaneously, with no autotune and no digital correction. The approach prioritizes raw energy and collective performance — marking a creative turning point for the Curitiba-based quintet.
The album expands the band’s sonic palette with synths, violin, string arrangements, prominent acoustic guitars and rhythmic structures in alternating time signatures. The harmonic writing is more sophisticated than ever, while the lyrics reflect a new emotional maturity that doesn’t sacrifice the irreverent identity that first made the group a household name in Brazil.
Migalhas is available on all digital platforms as of Wednesday, April 1st.

The bus that became a stage
To launch the album, Jovem Dionisio purchased a year-2000 Scania bus and converted it into a traveling stage. The plan is to roll through public squares and open spaces across Brazil — with a special focus on their home state of Paraná — creating spontaneous, direct and human encounters with fans.
The tour’s opening night in Curitiba drew approximately 10,000 people. The bus serves both as a stage structure and as a physical extension of the band’s visual and creative universe — a kind of contemporary circus on wheels.
The dive-bar boyband that became a digital phenomenon.
That’s how Rio de Janeiro newspaper O Globo once described Jovem Dionisio — and the phrase still holds. Founded by childhood friends, the itinerant tour carries an emotional dimension that comes through in every performance, with an organic, almost handmade way of occupying the stage and relating to the audience.
From viral hit to Latin Grammy nominee
“Acorda Pedrinho” was the band’s breakthrough: it entered the Spotify Global Top 50, spent weeks at number one in Brazil, and became the most-searched song on Google Brazil in 2023. The track earned nominations at the Prêmio da Música Brasileira, Prêmio Multishow and TikTok Awards.
Their 2024 album “Ontem Eu Tinha Certeza (Hoje Eu Tenho Mais)” — featuring Arnaldo Antunes, Grupo Menos é Mais and Dupla 02 — earned the band a first Latin Grammy nomination for Best Rock or Alternative Album in Portuguese. Recent collaborations include Gilberto Gil, Terno Rei and Portuguese band NAPA.
