A journey between two iconic waters

Singer-songwriter Lienne presents the show Guanabara São Francisco – vidas do rio à baía (Lives of the River to the Bay) on March 12, a Thursday, at 7 PM, at the Centro Cultural Justiça Federal (CCJF), in Rio de Janeiro’s Cinelândia district. The performance is part of Mostra Mulheres em Cena (Women on Stage Showcase), a month-long program running throughout March at the venue.

The show marks the pre-release of Lienne’s second studio album, set to arrive on streaming platforms in April. The concept draws a symbolic bridge between two iconic territories of Brazilian culture: the São Francisco River, the “river of national unity” crossing the Northeast, and the Guanabara Bay, the heart of Rio de Janeiro. Through this imaginary crossing, Lienne builds an original repertoire that honors northeastern heritage in the Southeast, weaving together memory, displacement, and identity.

Rhythm, body, and voice at the core

Rooted in MPB with a strong percussive drive, the show moves through samba, coco, samba de roda, and maracatu — some of Brazil’s most vibrant rhythmic traditions. Lienne takes the stage on lead vocals and percussion, joined by Ana Paula Cruz (winds), Marcos Tannuri (cavaquinho), Gabriel Veras (guitar), and Naife Simões (percussion). Special guests Katarina Assef, Ledjane Motta, and Thiago Amud also make appearances.

New single drops on show day

On March 12, the same night as the performance, the single “Mar e Maré” (Sea and Tide) — a co-write by Lienne and Bruno Barreto — drops on all major streaming platforms, offering a preview of the album’s sonic and conceptual world. Ticketholders will also receive a private link to stream the full album ahead of its official release, delivered by email after purchase.

Guanabara São Francisco is an invitation to dive into the waters, rhythms, and stories of Brazil through Lienne’s voice and songs.
