Produced by DJ DM, “Samba Enredo” merges boombap with Brazilian samba and bossa nova, previewing the rapper’s debut EP on EME Lab.

“It will become my samba enredo, my whereabouts will be my place of peace.” With these lines, LK O Marroquino introduces his new single, “Samba Enredo”, released on April 14 across all digital platforms via EME Lab. The track signals a bold new chapter for the rapper and sets the stage for his highly anticipated debut EP, due in May.

Boombap meets samba and bossa nova

Produced by DJ DM, “Samba Enredo” draws on the narrative structure of traditional Brazilian carnival songs to weave together stories of love, loss, and self-discovery. The track fuses boombap with the warmth of samba and bossa nova — genres that shaped LK’s upbringing and remain deeply rooted in the peripheral culture that built his identity.

Lyrically, LK tells the story of a love that slipped away, pushing the narrator to explore the world in search of meaning. The result bridges Brazilian musical tradition and contemporary hip-hop without losing its grounding in collective memory and street life.

“This song opens the door to an EP that carries a lot of everything I’ve always loved. Adding some samba, some bossa nova — things I grew up listening to with my family. That culture is part of our reality, of the periphery, so expressing this side of me is deeply gratifying.” — LK O Marroquino

Music video filmed in his hometown

The single comes with a music video filmed in Pindamonhangaba, São Paulo — the city where LK was born and raised. Directed by Macaco Elétrico, the video captures a spontaneous gathering at a bar handpicked by the artist, which quickly spilled into the streets. Friends, family, and fans showed up freely, creating an organic scene built on closeness and community.

“This video captures my essence. In the most simple and sincere way, and there’s no better place to bring this project than where it all started inside me. Having family close, feeling that warm embrace from the people who have always believed in me… It means everything. I come from here, I belong here, and I am myself.” — LK O Marroquino

“Samba Enredo” is out now on all streaming platforms. LK O Marroquino’s debut EP arrives via EME Lab in May.
