A historic rock night: Lynyrd Skynyrd headlines Qualistage on April 5 alongside Dirty Honey and British newcomers Jayler.
Qualistage, in the Barra da Tijuca neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, hosts one of the most anticipated shows of the year on Sunday, April 5. Produced by Mercury Concerts, the night brings together three generations of rock on a single stage: southern rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd, American powerhouse Dirty Honey, and British rising stars Jayler.
Five decades of southern rock glory
Founded in the American South in the 1970s, Lynyrd Skynyrd built their identity around triple-guitar interplay, Southern lyricism, and timeless anthems. Songs like “Free Bird” and “Sweet Home Alabama” have transcended generations and become global rock milestones.
The tragic plane crash of 1977 left a lasting mark on the band’s story. Still, Lynyrd Skynyrd returned in 1987 with Johnny Van Zant on vocals, keeping the flame alive through decades of touring and recording. With more than 50 years of history, the band remains one of the most enduring names in American music.
Dirty Honey: redefining modern rock
Formed in Los Angeles in 2017, Dirty Honey revitalized hard rock with deep roots in the 1970s sound. In 2019, the band made history by reaching the top of the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart as a fully independent act with “When I’m Gone” — a feat unprecedented for an unsigned band.
Since then, Dirty Honey has shared stages with Guns N’ Roses, KISS, and The Black Crowes, released two studio albums, and built a reputation for electrifying live performances. They are now widely regarded as one of rock’s most important new forces.
In 2019, Dirty Honey reached the top of the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart as a fully independent act — a landmark achievement in modern rock history.
Jayler brings British rock to Brazil
Founded in the United Kingdom in 2022, Jayler came together when James Bartholomew and Tyler Arrowsmith met at an open mic night and quickly turned their school project into a full rock band alongside Ed Evans and Ricky Hodgkiss.
Their debut EP, “A Piece in Our Time” (2023), showcased sharp riffs, a 1970s-inspired energy, and a commanding stage presence that set them apart on UK tours. With the single “Riverboat Queen” (2025) and festival invitations piling up, Jayler is fast becoming one of the brightest prospects in contemporary British rock. Their stop at Qualistage marks a special moment for the band in Brazil.
