MAHI releases “Me Levar” single and album on November 21; music video arrives on YouTube on November 23.
The Rio-based band MAHI opens a new chapter in its career with the release of “Me Levar”, available on streaming platforms on November 21 along with a full album of the same name. The launch antecede the group’s fifth anniversary, celebrated in January.
The single will also receive a music video, premiering on YouTube on November 23. The production aims to translate the track’s energy and emotional depth into imagery.
“Me Levar” delivers an inviting pop reggae that explores genuine connection and surrender to love with a hint of mystery. The light and vibrant sound, described by the band as “Reggae POP”, blends national reggae influences with international references such as Stick Figure.
According to vocalist Léo Jack, the track was inspired by conversations about emotional freedom. He explains that the band sought to capture the feeling of trusting love and allowing oneself to feel, making it one of their most sincere creations.
The music video was recorded at Estúdio Sérgio Menezes (RJ) and directed by João Frazão, who wrote the script along with Léo Jack and Rafaella Guarany. The visual concept features a minimalist set with a white infinite background and a symbolic sun represented by a large sphere of light.
Léo reveals that the visual concept reflects the ideas of ascension and transcendence present throughout the album. The clip’s aesthetics also inspired the album cover, made from a photo taken under the sun that captures only the band’s shadows, symbolizing unity and collective identity.
