After years away, Marcelo D2 returns to Espírito Santo as a headliner at Festival Movimento Cidade 2026 in Vila Velha.
The rapper and samba artist will perform on Sunday, August 16, closing the festival’s 8th edition held from August 14 to 16 at Prainha. The show marks his long-awaited reunion with local fans and promises a powerful set filled with his greatest hits.
Known for blending hip-hop and samba, Marcelo D2 will perform “Manual Prático do Novo Samba Tradicional,” created with his band Um Punhado de Bamba. The project deepens the fusion of 808 beats with samba percussion, showcasing the artist’s signature sound and creative identity.
The festival lineup also includes Zeca Pagodinho, Duquesa, Budah, João Gomes, Urias, Gaby Amarantos, Ajuliacosta, and O Kannalha, as well as local artists Roberta de Razão, Ury Vieira, Fabriccio, and Maré Tardia. In total, more than 20 hours of music will bring together different generations and musical styles.
This year’s theme, “Cities Are People,” emphasizes individuals as key agents of urban transformation. The program will also feature film screenings, dance battles, and art performances, turning Prainha into a massive open-air cultural space.
The 2026 edition adopts a new format: August 14 will offer free entry with the donation of 1 kg of food, while August 15 and 16 will require tickets, available in single-day or full-pass options. Free and half-price tickets are available for specific groups.
