Brazilian pianist and composer Marvio Ciribelli returns to Teresópolis for a special performance at Casa de Cultura Adolpho Bloch on Friday, March 20, at 8 p.m. He will be joined by Mauro Nogueira (bass), Joás Rodrigues (drums), and Júlio Rocha (percussion).

Ciribelli’s career includes performances at top international festivals such as Adelaide Fringe (Australia), Java Jazz Festival (Indonesia), Jazz Plaza (Cuba), and Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), where he recorded three live albums. He has collaborated with artists like John Lawton (Uriah Heep), Freddy Cole (Nat King Cole’s brother), and the Dutch progressive group Focus.

The program features original compositions such as “O Homem foi feito pra ficar de pé quando cair” and “Sans Souci,” alongside Brazilian classics by Chiquinha Gonzaga, Ernesto Nazareth, José Roberto Bertrami, and Tom Jobim. Expect a night where jazz and Brazilian rhythms intertwine in pure dialogue and improvisation.

In recent years, Ciribelli has played renowned venues like Blue Note Rio and Beco das Garrafas, bringing vibrant performances that blend technique, swing, and emotion — a signature of his journey through Brazilian jazz.
