Mental Abstrato’s Pioneering Journey

Led by Omig One, Calmão Tranquis, and Guimas Santos, the band formed in 2005 in São Paulo’s outskirts. They pioneered Rap Jazz in Brazil, fusing contemporary jazz, hip-hop, and Afro-Brazilian rhythms.

They released four albums in Japan and the US. Singles appeared on European labels, earning global acclaim. They stay connected to peripheral culture roots.

The essence of contemporary jazz and Hip Hop blends perfectly with Brazilian music rarities.

The free show traces the band’s path. It highlights influences shaping their urban instrumental music.

Performances with Music Icons

Recently, Mental Abstrato played festivals across Brazil and abroad. They shared stages with Elza Soares, João Donato, Azymuth, Duofel, and Bocato.

US artists like Robert Glasper and Joey Bada$$ joined, plus Italians Nu Guinea. Guests included Claudya, Tássia Reis, and Rincon Sapiência.
