The Brazilian vocal group Ordinarius makes its Chilean debut on December 19 at 7 p.m. at the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center in Santiago, presenting a concert dedicated to bossa nova. The show features original arrangements and musical direction by Augusto Ordine.
Entitled “Bossa 20”, the concert includes reimagined versions of classics such as “The Girl from Ipanema,” “Wave,” “Waters of March,” and “Summer Samba.” Performed in an intimate setup, the repertoire brings refined and creative vocal harmonies that highlight the group’s innovative approach to Brazilian music.
Composed of Augusto Ordine, Maíra Martins, Fabiano Salek, Matias Correa, Beatriz Coimbra, and Antonia Medeiros, Ordinarius recently released its 10th album, “Brasuca”, celebrating Brazil’s rhythmic diversity. The Chile debut adds to international tours through Paraguay, Panama, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, the United States, and Japan.
“Bossa nova has always connected Brazil to the world, and bringing this repertoire to Chile represents a cultural bridge. We’re excited to share our vocal work with such a warm audience,” says Augusto Ordine.
The concert will be recorded and released for free on the group’s official channels, which have already surpassed six million views. “Performing in Santiago is a joy. We’re proud to celebrate bossa nova through arrangements that unite respect and freshness,” adds Maíra Martins.
