The singer unveils this Friday (March 20) her heartfelt take on “Mentiras”, a 1990s hit reborn within her project “SIMPLESmente, EU”. The track features in the soundtrack of Globo’s telenovela “Coração Acelerado” and represents Paula’s artistic maturity and creative freedom.

Written by Adriana Calcanhotto, the song became a symbol of emotional contradictions in love. In Paula’s version, her powerful and delicate voice brings renewed emotion, with modern arrangements that highlight the lyrical depth and mirror the telenovela’s themes of love, choices, and healing.

“‘Mentiras’ speaks about knowing something is wrong but still wanting to believe. It’s a deeply human feeling,” says Paula Fernandes.

The music video was filmed at the historic Fazenda Tamanduá in Araxá, Minas Gerais, and directed by Bruno Campos with Paula’s creative input. The visual narrative depicts a woman rebuilding herself after heartbreak, contrasting intimate indoor moments with scenes of freedom and strength in the open countryside.

The single is part of Paula’s November 2025 EP “SIMPLESmente, EU”, which features five tracks, including “Amar de Novo” — an officially licensed Portuguese version of Adele’s “Set Fire To The Rain” — and “Pai e Filha”, a duet with Sérgio Reis.
