Show celebrates 30-year career and opens Monka Cervejaria’s music weekend with performances until Sunday.
On Friday, November 14, Monka Cervejaria welcomes singer-songwriter Péricles Garcia for the launch show of his new album Desanuviar. The concert also celebrates his 30-year career, featuring the musicians who took part in the album recording. The event opens the brewery’s special November lineup, which continues with performances by Bruma Acústico, Banda Folk, and Jonathan Eler over the weekend.
Desanuviar: new songs and Brazilian influences
Featuring eight original tracks, the new album is Garcia’s seventh studio release, blending baião, reggae, soul, and rock in a tribute to Gilberto Gil. The project embraces a Brazilian, organic, and plural sound, reflecting Gil’s influence on both the music and creative process.
“This album is, above all, a tribute to Gilberto Gil. He influenced not only the sound but also the creative process. These songs came after a period of silence and healed me — that’s when I realized I didn’t have reflux, but songs stuck in my throat,” says Péricles.
Produced by Guilherme Castro and Garcia himself, the album was recorded between June and September 2025 at Le Garage and Stereoutono Studios in Belo Horizonte. The songs are tied together by a story written by YouTuber Cara do Antídoto, while the visual design by Paulo Valle will be released in CD, LP, and the new LV format — featuring booklet and QR code for online listening.

In addition to the songs from Desanuviar, the show includes tracks from Garcia’s previous albums, such as Mar de Montanhas (2001), Rua Universo (2016), and 76 (2019), plus tributes to Gilberto Gil classics. The concert begins at 9 p.m., with tickets available on Sympla.
