The Maroon 5 keyboardist brings an intimate format to the stage of Blue Note Rio on Tuesday, December 2, with two sessions at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.. Born and raised in New Orleans, PJ Morton began his career after being invited by Erykah Badu to join her tour.
PJ Morton joined Maroon 5 as a touring member in 2010 and became an official member in 2012. In 2019, he won his first Grammy Award with a powerful rendition of “How Deep Is Your Love”, by the Bee Gees, a highlight of his live shows that often turns into a sing-along with the audience.
A singer, songwriter, producer and keyboardist, PJ Morton released his first solo project in 2012, the EP “Following My First Mind”, through Young Money, the label founded by Lil Wayne. That same year, he officially joined Maroon 5, further expanding his presence in contemporary pop and R&B.
On the Blue Note Rio stage, the artist presents a set that revisits his musical journey in an intimate, soulful atmosphere, driven by piano arrangements and expressive vocals. The repertoire includes “How Deep Is Your Love”, the song that earned him his first Grammy in 2019.
