Raiz do Sana is turning Holy Week into a celebration of musical memory. The band performs on April 4, 2026, starting at 8 PM, at Celeiro Lounge, inside Camping Fazendinha in the Arraial do Sana district, in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro state. The night promises songs that have been off the setlist for years — and the return of a classic.

“We played many shows over the years, especially during holidays. Sana has a different energy, an atmosphere all its own. Performing during Holy Week is a way of reclaiming that tradition,” said band manager Raphael Rabello.

“Catarina” reborn

The show marks the first performance following the relaunch of “Catarina”, one of the band’s most beloved songs. The track, written by Frank Furtado, Ricardo Nascimento, and Mestre Elysio (1951–2026), has been rearranged as part of the celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the band’s debut album, originally released in 2000.

The choice came directly from fans: a public poll named “Catarina” one of the most iconic tracks of the band’s career. The new version refreshes the sound while preserving the essence that made it a forró pé-de-serra staple.

We revisited a lot of material and decided to bring back songs that defined an era but hadn’t been played in a long time. It’s going to be special.

Over two decades rooted in Sana

Founded in 1998 in the Arraial do Sana district itself, the band has grown into one of the most recognized names in traditional northeastern Brazilian forró in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Their sound blends the roots of forró with rich percussive elements that give the group a distinct identity.

The current lineup features Tati Veras (vocals), Rodrigo Ramalho (accordion), Léo Oliveira (cavaquinho and guitar), Frank Furtado (zabumba drum), Sabatuk (percussion), and Armandinho Casca (bass). Opening the night is the project Pepê Canta Samba.
