Less than 20 days before her free Copacabana show, a massive 74.5-meter banner in Botafogo tunnel signals Shakira’s arrival in Rio.
Rio de Janeiro is making its excitement impossible to miss. The iconic welcome banner for Todo Mundo no Rio — the city’s landmark outdoor concert series — has gone up at the entrance of the Engenheiro Coelho Cintra Tunnel, the historic passage connecting the neighborhoods of Copacabana and Botafogo, with fewer than 20 days to go before Shakira takes the stage.
A banner built for a superstar
The installation is hard to overlook. Measuring 74.5 meters wide by 10 meters tall, it was produced using high-resolution digital printing on vinyl media. In a sustainable touch, the banner will be donated after the event to NGOs and cooperatives that work with material reuse.
A monumental stage on the sand
Behind the scenes, the production is growing just as fast. The stage will cover 1,345 m² and feature a central catwalk stretching 25 meters into the crowd. A 500 m² LED screen will back the performance, with the entire structure elevated 2.20 meters above the beach for maximum visibility.
Along the shoreline, 16 sound and video towers — each fitted with a 45 m² LED screen — will relay the full show to every corner of the beachfront crowd. No fan will miss a beat, regardless of where they stand.
