Rocinha Music School opens 2025 Auditions on November 26

Rocinha Music School holds free auditions from 11/26 to 12/10 in several community venues.

The Rocinha Music School (EMR) presents its Auditions, an event that symbolizes the closing of a year of learning, dedication and artistic growth. According to communication director Natália Simonete, each performance celebrates the progress students achieved throughout the year.

Natália explains that the presence of the audience makes the occasion even more meaningful, as it values the effort of young musicians and strengthens the emotional connection with each performance.

For 30 years, EMR has served around 400 low-income children and young people from Rocinha and neighboring communities, offering musical training from basic to advanced levels. Enrollment remains open for courses such as choir, piano, keyboard, recorder, guitar, cavaquinho, percussion, violin, viola, cello, double bass, transverse flute, clarinet, trumpet, horn, trombone, harp, music initiation, theory, perception, ensemble practice and orchestra.

The School has contributed to forming young talents who now perform across Brazil, including members of Banda Capo, Chorando à Toa, the Youth Choir, the Children’s Choir and the Rocinha Chamber Orchestra.
