After more than 18 years building a unique identity in southern Brazil’s music scene, Rock de Galpão opens a bold new chapter this Friday, April 17, at 9 PM, at the Teatro do Bourbon Country in Porto Alegre. The show marks the release of the original album “De Boina, Alpargata e Bombacha”, kicks off the band’s new tour, and will be recorded as a live audiovisual production.

An experience beyond the concert

The show goes far beyond a standard performance. Featuring virtual scenography and large-screen projections aligned with the album’s concept, the audience will be immersed in a world where poetry, identity, and sound intertwine. Tradition and contemporary culture share the same stage seamlessly.

Produced alongside singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Esteban Tavares, the album was recorded between Porto Alegre and São Paulo. It reflects a moment of creative maturity for the band, featuring collaborations with Luiz Coronel, Mário Pirata, Cabo Déco, Túlio Urach, and Tiago Bra, as well as a reinterpretation of “Trovinha Lunar” by Thadeu Martins and Lenin Nunez.

Old favorites meet new tracks

The setlist blends new album tracks with songs that defined Rock de Galpão’s career. On songs like “No Rastro de Uma Nação”, “Pachamama Soul”, and “Vikings do Jarau”, the band moves fluidly between rock, milonga, and Latin American song, always anchored in regional identity and lyrical depth.

“De Boina, Alpargata e Bombacha” is an invitation into the cultural imagination of southern Brazil.

Opening night packed with special guests

The audiovisual recording will feature special appearances by Shana Müller, Esteban Tavares, Tiago Bra, and Tales Melati, plus guest musician Gustavo Brodinho. Their presence raises the artistic stakes of an already landmark night.

Attendees are also invited to bring non-perishable food items, which will be donated to Cozinheiros do Bem.

The show is presented by Rio Grande Seguros e Previdência, sponsored by Banrisul, Icatu, Grupo Bianchi, and Basso Straps, with cultural support from Kranen Alimentos, Da Luz Cervejaria, Cosas Buenas, and Cozinheiros do Bem.
