Rock in Rio 2026 has officially entered its 100-day countdown, bringing with it a powerful preview of what’s to come: 42 international performances already confirmed, including 15 exclusive shows in Brazil.
Set to take place this September at Cidade do Rock in Rio de Janeiro, the festival once again positions itself as a global meeting point for music, culture, and large-scale live experiences.
Exclusive performances take center stage
A defining feature of this edition is its exclusive bookings. Artists performing only at Rock in Rio within Brazil add a sense of rarity and urgency for fans.
Elton John stands out among them, choosing the festival for a rare appearance in the country after stepping away from major global tours.
Other exclusive acts include Foo Fighters, Stray Kids, Twenty One Pilots, Mumford & Sons, and Fatboy Slim, reflecting a lineup that spans genres and generations.
Seven days of programming
The festival runs across two weekends: September 4–7 and 11–13, 2026, with multiple stages hosting a wide range of artists.
Highlights include Foo Fighters opening the main stage on September 4, Elton John headlining on September 7, and Twenty One Pilots closing the festival on September 13.
Additional names such as Maroon 5, Demi Lovato, J Balvin, and Jamiroquai reinforce the event’s global appeal.
Beyond music: immersive experiences
Rock in Rio continues to expand beyond concerts. The 2026 edition introduces a redesigned main stage featuring 2,400 square meters of LED panels.
The New Dance Order stage returns with an upgraded visual concept, while new attractions like the Gourmet Square and the ECCO immersive show enhance the overall experience.
ECCO, developed with LightWire, blends technology, dance, and sensory storytelling in a 360-degree environment, with multiple daily sessions.
Audience and impact
The event is expected to welcome 700,000 attendees, along with approximately 450,000 tourists, reinforcing its cultural and economic significance.
According to founder Roberto Medina, preparations and travel plans are already shaping a large-scale movement toward Rio de Janeiro this September.
