Rock in Rio 2026 sells out Sept. 6 and 12

Rock in Rio 2026 already has two sold-out dates before the gates even open. The festival announced that general admission for September 6, led by Calvin Harris, was gone in 2h05, while September 12, topped by Maroon 5, sold out in 2h12. With less than three months to go before the Cidade do Rock returns, the ticket rush has turned anticipation into a measurable signal of just how strong this edition is shaping up to be.

Both dates combine some of the event’s biggest crowd-pullers across multiple stages. On September 6, the World Stage also brings Black Eyed Peas, Nelly and Barão Vermelho Encontro Formação Original, while the Sunset lineup includes NE-YO, Jota Quest toca Tim Maia, BaianaSystem and Calema. On September 12, the festival pairs Maroon 5 with Demi Lovato, J Balvin, Pedro Sampaio and Mumford & Sons, building a schedule with broad reach across pop, Latin music and live crossover performances.

The first sellouts

According to the organizers, fans were ready as soon as sales opened and quickly cleared out two of the seven festival dates. That response lands at a key moment for an edition scheduled for September 4, 5, 6, 7 and 11, 12 and 13, 2026, at Cidade do Rock in Rio de Janeiro’s Olympic Park. It also gives an early sense of scale to a program spread across Palco Mundo, Sunset, Espaço Favela, New Dance Order, Global Village and Supernova.

The timing matters. The announcement comes with the festival still weeks away from opening day, but after the full lineup has already been revealed. Rock in Rio says this edition will feature 45 international artists, more than 15 unique and exclusive shows, plus new experiences designed to extend the event beyond the stages themselves. The sellouts on September 6 and 12 are the clearest sign so far that demand is already running high.

Why Sept. 6 hit hard

The organization describes September 6 as the day when Cidade do Rock will host “the biggest party in history,” and the lineup helps explain that pitch. Calvin Harris leads the World Stage, joined by Black Eyed Peas, Nelly and Barão Vermelho Encontro Formação Original, creating a night built around major hits, crossover appeal and multigenerational recognition. That combination pushed general admission to a sellout in just over two hours.

Elsewhere, the schedule stays just as dense. The Sunset stage hosts NE-YO, Jota Quest toca Tim Maia, BaianaSystem and Calema. Espaço Favela features Xamã, Rael and Budah. New Dance Order closes with MEDUZA³, alongside Liu, Casa Bonita – Brisotti e Viot, and Sofi Tukker. Global Village brings Mohamed Ramadan, Mãeana and Bento Gil convida Flor Gil, while Supernova adds João Gordo & Asteroides Trio in “Blitzkrieg Psycho Bop Ramones 50”, Matanza Ritual, Bayside Kings and O Escritório.

Sept. 12 follows fast

September 12 moved at nearly the same speed. Maroon 5 leads the World Stage bill, with Demi Lovato, J Balvin and Pedro Sampaio filling out one of the most commercially powerful nights on the lineup. The result was another rapid sellout, with general admission gone in 2h12.

The rest of the schedule keeps that momentum going. Sunset brings Mumford & Sons, João Gomes com a Orquestra Brasileira, Gilsons convidando Daniela Mercury e Olodum, plus the meeting of Criolo, Amaro Freitas and Dino D’Santiago. Espaço Favela has Timbalada, Priscilla Senna and Soul de Brasileiro. New Dance Order closes with Alok and the new project Rave The World, in addition to Alok & Family – Ekanta e Swarup, Gabe, Adam Sellouk and Bhaskar. Global Village hosts Mestrinho, Hamilton de Holanda and Badi Assad, while Supernova presents Delacruz, Milo J, Yago Oproprio and Celo Dut.
