Rock in Rio Lisboa kicked off a landmark edition at Parque Tejo this Saturday (20), drawing a sold-out crowd of 100,000 people and setting the tone for what is expected to resonate all the way to Brazil in September.

Across more than 12 hours of programming, the festival delivered a high-energy mix of Brazilian and international acts, reinforcing its position as a global music and cultural destination.

A global festival experience

Fans from over 125 countries gathered under the European summer sun, turning the Cidade do Rock into a truly international meeting point.

Roberta Medina highlighted how the move to the new venue represents a turning point, expanding the festival’s scale and aligning it with major European events.

“With this park, we’ve become a different Rock in Rio, with a structure aligned to Europe and a growing international audience.”

Brazilian artists take center stage

Pedro Sampaio delivered one of the most talked-about performances of the day, leading a massive crowd moment with his signature “Cavalinho,” turning the venue into a giant dancefloor.

He also received a triple platinum award backstage, underscoring his expanding global reach.

Elsewhere, ALOK brought an immersive electronic set, while Carol Biazin and Joyce Alane showcased the strength of Brazil’s new generation of artists.

International headliners shine

Katy Perry closed the night with a large-scale production, blending visual storytelling and career-spanning hits like “Firework” and “California Girls.”

Charlie Puth impressed with a dynamic set balancing intimacy and energy, while Bebe Rexha delivered a high-impact performance filled with crowd favorites.

Opening the main stage, Calema created one of the most emotional moments of the day, celebrating Portuguese-language music.

Beyond the music

The festival expanded its experience offering with attractions like The Flight, an aerial show combining synchronized aircraft, visuals and soundtrack over Lisbon’s skyline.

The new Music and Football Arena also stood out, merging live match screenings with interactive experiences and crowd engagement.

Looking ahead to Brazil

The Lisbon edition builds anticipation for Rock in Rio Brazil, where many of the same artists will perform again in September.

The strong turnout and global atmosphere signal another major chapter ahead for the festival’s home edition.
