Xande de Pilares will be the guest on this Monday’s edition of Roda Viva, on December 1. The interview will be hosted by Vera Magalhães and aired live at 10 p.m. on TV Cultura.
In 2025, the singer and songwriter released the album Nos Braços do Povo – Volume 1 and continues to receive recognition for the project Xande Canta Caetano, winner of the 2024 Latin Grammy for Best Samba/Pagode Album.
During Carnival 2026, Xande de Pilares will be honored by the samba school Unidos de Jacarezinho, which will parade in the Gold Series. The artist also joins the group of composers behind the winning samba of Mocidade, which will pay tribute to Rita Lee.
The panel of interviewers will include Claudia Alexandre, journalist and researcher; Fabiana Cozza, singer and researcher; Jairo Malta, columnist for Sons da Perifa at Folha de S.Paulo and curator of the Museu das Favelas; Jefferson Barbosa, journalist and author of the book A Mãe do Mundo, about Mãe Beata de Yemanjá; and Sérgio Martins, music critic.
The program will also feature live illustrations by cartoonist Luciano Veronezi throughout the interview.
The Roda Viva episode with Xande de Pilares will air live at 10 p.m. on TV Cultura, with simultaneous transmission on the network’s website, the Cultura Play app, and the channel’s social media platforms on YouTube, X, TikTok, and Facebook.
