Concert kicks off summer in Olímpia
With nearly 50 years of hits, the legendary Brazilian band Roupa Nova presents its show “Simplesmente Roupa Nova” this Friday, December 5, at 10 p.m., at Arena Olimpia. The event marks the beginning of summer in the city, which expects more than one million visitors between December and January.
Known as one of Brazil’s top tourism destinations, Olímpia celebrates the season with this special concert full of nostalgia and classic hits that have touched generations.
Intimate and interactive performance
“Simplesmente Roupa Nova” presents a more interactive performance. “We walk through the audience, open up for questions and song requests. Of course, hits like ‘Sapato Velho,’ ‘Whisky a Go Go,’ and ‘Dona’ are always on the setlist,” says guitarist Kiko.
The tour celebrates the band’s remarkable journey. Roupa Nova is Brazil’s only group with over four decades of uninterrupted activity and nearly the same members, except for vocalist Paulinho, who passed away in 2020. “We want to reconnect with our audience through the songs that shaped our story,” adds bassist Nando.
Official hotel partnership
The official event hotel is Enjoy Solar das Águas Park Resort, located across from Arena Olimpia. The resort will provide kid’s entertainment for children aged 4 to 8 while parents enjoy the show.
