Brazil’s Coala Festival announces its first two acts for 2026: samba-soul icon Seu Jorge and forró star João Gomes. Tickets on sale now.
Two artists, one defining lineup
Coala Festival has unveiled the first confirmed names for its 12th edition: Seu Jorge and João Gomes. The festival takes place on September 12 and 13, 2026, at the Memorial da América Latina in São Paulo, with tickets going on sale officially on March 2.
The pairing reflects the curatorial vision that has defined Coala since its founding in 2014 — bridging established artists with the new voices shaping Brazilian popular music today.
Seu Jorge brings a one-of-a-kind show
Seu Jorge is preparing a special, never-before-seen set for the occasion. The artist — celebrated for his original compositions and reinterpretations spanning samba, soul, and MPB — will revisit multiple chapters of his career while incorporating songs from his latest album, “Baile à la Baiana”. Special guests are promised, though no names have been disclosed.
I am so happy to be part of Coala this year. It’s a young, beloved crew that I’ve followed for a long time and that has always supported Brazilian music with great passion. I’m preparing a special show with songs from my latest album ‘Baile à la Baiana’, classics and special guests for the festival, to celebrate this moment — I won’t give any spoilers, but it’s going to be incredibly beautiful. Seu Jorge, singer and songwriter
João Gomes brings northeastern Brazil to the main stage
Born in the backlands of Pernambuco, João Gomes became one of Brazil’s most-streamed artists by taking piseiro — a high-energy offshoot of forró — far beyond its regional roots. At Coala 2026, he promises a show built for singing and dancing from start to finish.
I’m counting the days to get on the Coala Festival stage. Just imagining the crowd’s energy already gives me that good kind of butterflies. I’m preparing a special show — the kind you sing from beginning to end, dance close together, and feel every song. It’ll be one of those encounters that goes down in history, and I want everyone living it with me. João Gomes, singer
A curation built across generations
The Coala Festival 2026 lineup is curated by Gabriel Andrade and Marcus Preto. For Andrade, the two opening announcements encapsulate the festival’s identity.
The first two names announced at Coala 2026 translate exactly what we have always sought to present as a festival. Seu Jorge is an established artist with a catalog full of hits that span generations, and João Gomes is a new Brazilian classic who has already won over the entire country. Coala has always aimed to celebrate great artists while opening space for new talent — and this combination does exactly that. Gabriel Andrade, Coala Festival curator
New features: Vila Coala and official Heineken partnership
The 2026 edition introduces two structural additions. Heineken becomes the official beer of the festival, marking seven years of partnership with the HEINEKEN Group. Meanwhile, the brand-new Vila Coala will debut as an exclusive area integrated with the backstage, offering a distinct experience for attendees.
The festival is also sponsored by Natura, with Red Bull as the official energy drink, and receives cultural support from the Memorial da América Latina and the Government of the State of São Paulo.
