The Colombian superstar is the only Latin American artist among the 17 nominees in this year’s class and is competing for the first time. She shares the ballot with Phil Collins, P!NK, New Edition, and Luther Vandross, among others. Fan communities around the world launched campaigns to boost her votes, reflecting the global reach Shakira has sustained over more than three decades.

Free Concert in Rio de Janeiro

Before heading back to the United States, Shakira will perform a free concert on Copacabana Beach on May 2, as part of the Todo Mundo no Rio festival. Around 2 million people are expected to attend. Hotel occupancy in Rio de Janeiro for that period has already surpassed 90%.

New U.S. Arena Dates

This week, Shakira announced a special run of arena shows as part of the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour. The new dates kick off on June 13 with a return to Los Angeles at the Intuit Dome.

The tour will also visit Atlanta, Miami, Palm Desert, Baltimore, Boston, Newark, Brooklyn, Belmont Park, and Atlantic City. The timing coincides with the FIFA World Cup, with several host cities on the route.

Historic Residency in Madrid

Between September and October, Shakira will hold a residency in Spain with 11 confirmed shows in Madrid. The performances will take place at the Estadio Shakira, a large-scale temporary venue integrated into Iberdrola Music, designed by the acclaimed architecture firm BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group).

The immersive space holds more than 50,000 fans per night, featuring full sightlines, cutting-edge acoustics, and premium experiences. What started as three dates quickly expanded to 11 shows, making it the largest residency in Europe in 2026. Over half a million tickets have already been sold.

A Record-Breaking Tour

Launched in February 2025, the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour holds a Guinness World Record as the highest-grossing tour of all time by a Latin artist, earning US$421.6 million and selling 3.3 million tickets across 86 shows.
