Shakira’s free Copacabana show just got bigger: a 1,500 m² stage, 25-meter catwalk, and a free Waka Waka dance class on April 26.
The stage for Shakira‘s special performance at Todo Mundo No Rio keeps growing. As part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour, the production has expanded the structure to 1,500 m², featuring 680 m² of LED screens. A catwalk will extend 25 meters toward the crowd on the sands of Copacabana Beach.
To ensure visibility for everyone on the beach, the stage will be raised 2.20 meters above the sand. A total of 16 sound and video towers will be set up across the area, broadcasting the show to every corner of the audience. Each LED screen measures 45 m².
Learn the Waka Waka moves before the show
Shakira has made it clear she wants everyone dancing at her show. To help fans prepare, the Todo Mundo No Rio team is hosting a free dance class on Sunday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to noon, on the Copacabana beachfront in front of the Copacabana Palace hotel — right next to where the stage is being built.
The session will teach the iconic Waka Waka choreography, led by dance instructor Esther Lobo and dancer Christian Bazano, a member of Brazilian pop star Anitta’s team.
Free show with nationwide broadcast
Shakira‘s free concert takes place on May 2 at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. The show will be broadcast live on TV Globo, Multishow, and Globoplay, the event’s official media partners.
