Canto Djavan Takes the SP House Stage
The highlight of the label’s SXSW presence was the performance of Canto Djavan at the SP House on March 15. The project — released by Som Livre — features Melly, Bruna Black, and Jota.pê reimagining the iconic catalog of legendary Brazilian artist Djavan through the voices of a new generation. The show offered international audiences a window into the depth and vitality of Brazil’s musical heritage.
Following the trend of Gen Z consuming classic Brazilian music catalogs, these projects strengthen the connection with the past while bridging it to the present and future of music.

Bruna Black at the Tropi Club
Bruna Black also performed at the Tropi Club, an event organized by agency Let’s Gig that brought together artists from around the world to celebrate musical diversity and the cross-cultural connections that define SXSW. The appearance further cemented her growing international profile.
Jota.pê: Stages and Panels
Jota.pê had one of the busiest agendas at the festival. Beyond the Canto Djavan performance, he joined a special after-party hosted by TV Globo alongside Bruna Black and João Gomes.
