“Sonoras Traquinagens”: new children’s show at Sesc São João de Meriti

Los Traquitanas presents a children’s show combining handmade instruments and technology, in a single session at Sesc São João de Meriti on 23/11.

The new show, Sonoras Traquinagens, will take place on November 23 (Sunday) at 4 PM, with Libras translation. The group, composed of musicians who play and create various instruments, offers a fun and surprising sound experience for all ages. The project was selected in the SESC Pulsar program.

The performance mixes voices, guitar, rabeca, flute, keyboard, accordion, bass, drums, and percussion with handmade instruments created for the show using natural and recycled materials, along with electromechanical, electronic, and digital resources.

Los Traquitanas, founded in 2018, combines handmade instruments with new technologies for children. The musicians are Cláudio Mendes, Dôdo Ferreira, Joaquim de Paula, Leo Cortez, and Paulo Bi, performing traditional and original instruments like nose flute, kazoo, and sound latex dolls.

The repertoire includes well-known songs like “A linda rosa juvenil” and “O pato”, and original compositions such as “Oficleide”, “Ukebom”, and “Juro que vi”. Musicians interact with the audience, telling stories about the instruments and inviting children to participate.
