On April 25, Qualistage hosts the world’s top Supertramp tribute, paying special homage to founder Rick Davies, who passed away in 2025.
From the very first chord, the night at Qualistage in Rio de Janeiro’s Barra district will carry the weight of history. The Supertramp Experience show will honor Rick Davies — the band’s founder, lead vocalist, and keyboardist, who passed away in September 2025. The performance transforms the stage into a living tribute to one of the most important architects of progressive rock and pop from the 1970s and 1980s.
The man who never left Supertramp
Davies was the only member who remained with the band throughout its entire history. Alongside Roger Hodgson, he built one of rock’s most sophisticated catalogs — marked by elaborate melodies, ironic lyrics, and influences ranging from progressive rock to pop, blues, and jazz. His songwriting legacy includes timeless classics like Goodbye Stranger, Bloody Well Right, My Kind of Lady, Cannonball, and Free as a Bird.
Long before worldwide fame, the band was already showing remarkable maturity on records like Crime of the Century (1974) and Crisis? What Crisis? (1975) — albums that laid the sonic foundation that would make Supertramp a global benchmark.
49 years of Even in the Quietest Moments!
The timing of the Rio show adds another layer of meaning. April marks 49 years since the release of Even in the Quietest Moments!, the album that cemented Supertramp’s refined sound and introduced generation-spanning songs: Give a Little Bit, Fool’s Overture, Downstream, From Now On, and Babaji. The anniversary makes the tribute even more resonant.
The tribute endorsed by Roger Hodgson himself
The Supertramp Experience brings together five European musicians devoted to the original band’s legacy. The lineup features Antoine Oheix (vocals and keyboards), Alan Valley (guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals), David Martin (saxophone, keyboards, and chorus), Lucas Fleurance (bass), and Stéphane Glory (drums). Supertramp co-founder Roger Hodgson personally recognized them as the best tribute to the band in the world — an endorsement that speaks volumes.

Nearly two hours of unforgettable music
The Qualistage crowd can expect close to two hours of music spanning Supertramp’s greatest hits. Highlights include The Logical Song, Dreamer, School, Goodbye Stranger, Hide in Your Shell, and Fool’s Overture. The band’s mission is to faithfully recreate the sound, energy, and emotion of one of rock’s most enduring acts.
Full Brazilian tour
The Rio show is part of a broader Brazilian tour. The Supertramp Experience opens in Belo Horizonte (MG), then moves to São Paulo (SP), before heading northeast for dates in Fortaleza (CE) and Recife (PE). The tour then swings south, stopping in Florianópolis, Jaraguá do Sul, and Blumenau (SC), before closing in Porto Alegre (RS).
