After winning over audiences and critics in São Paulo, Thai de Melo brings her acclaimed solo theatrical debut to Rio de Janeiro — for just six performances, from March 3 to 12, at 8 PM, at the Copacabana Palace Theatre. The national tour, sponsored by Nubank, will also stop in Recife, Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, and Curitiba throughout 2026.

From the internet to the stage

Born in Boa Vista, in the northern Brazilian state of Roraima, and trained as a journalist, Thai de Melo built her name as a digital content creator, attracting partnerships with brands like Gucci, Dior, and Prada. On stage, she goes further: her show is a work of autofiction, guiding audiences through childhood memories, motherhood, marriage, career pressures, and the role of the internet in shaping contemporary identity.

“The goal was to bring the world of the internet into the theatre without being didactic about it. To test this persona in a completely different environment. Nothing is more opposite to the internet than the theatre.” — Thai de Melo

Directed by Bruno Guida — a member of the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab, trained at the École Philippe Gaulier in Paris and the Moscow Theatre School (GITIS) — the production brings together artists from diverse backgrounds. Guida describes the result as a work with “refined aesthetics and a light flirtation with buffoonery.”

The creative team

The script was written by Thai de Melo in collaboration with Juliana Rosenthal. Costumes are by Alexandre Herchcovitch and Flávia Laffer, music by Dan Maia, movement direction by Gabriel Malo, and art direction by Ana Ariette. The production is led by Dani Angelotti, a veteran with over 20 years of experience and more than 50 productions to her name.

“Exploring new paths, attracting new audiences, and crossing artistic languages is essential. Thai has a rare energy and reveals herself as a commanding stage presence.” — Dani Angelotti, producer
