The Ministry of Culture and Petrobras present the Resistência Cultural Festival at Rival, which hosts the 85th birthday celebration of Tia Surica, a member of Portela’s Velha Guarda since 1980. She chose the stage of Teatro Rival Petrobras to celebrate the date with a special concert featuring guests from her artistic journey.

The event takes place on November 22 and brings together friends and regular visitors of Cafofo da Tia Surica. Ana Costa, Marquinhos Diniz, Roberta Sá and Teresa Cristina are among the confirmed guests.

Repertoire

The setlist features songs from Tia Surica’s three recorded albums, which honor key Portela composers. The performance includes sambas such as “Lama” (Mauro Duarte), “Preciso me encontrar” (Candeia), “Que lugar” (Argemiro) and “Quantas lágrimas” (Manacéa).

The concert promises an evening dedicated to traditional samba and the emotional legacy built by the artist over more than four decades.
