Tinder is returning to Lollapalooza Brasil as an official supporter for the second consecutive year, using the festival stage to debut a redesigned version of its Music Mode feature. Now live on the app, the tool turns a user’s Top 5 favorite songs into a conversation starter, surfacing profiles that share the same musical tastes through a refreshed interface.

Why Music Sparks Real Connections

The partnership with Lollapalooza makes strategic sense. The festival draws tens of thousands of people united by shared cultural references — a natural environment for the kind of authentic connections Tinder wants to foster. Music already plays a major role on the platform: in the United States, more than half of all matches involve at least one person with a Spotify hit on their profile.

Brazilian data tells an equally compelling story. According to the Year in Swipe 2025 report, Sabrina Carpenter — the festival’s headline act — ranked among the most-mentioned artists by Brazilian Tinder users, while her hit “Manchild” was the second most-cited song in user bios across the country. For Gen Z, a playlist is a personality statement — and a shortcut to finding the right match.

How Music Mode Works

The updated Music Mode automatically highlights when two profiles share an artist, genre, or specific track while browsing the app. Every match starts with something in common — making that first message feel a lot less awkward. Early testing shows that 1 in 10 users under 22 has already adopted the feature.

“We know that musical taste is a fundamental interest, especially for Gen Z. By launching the new Music Mode right at Lollapalooza Brasil, we’re combining technology and a new in-app experience with the unique energy of the festival. It’s about celebrating music as a facilitator of real connections — whether through a match based on artists listed on a profile or a casual meeting in front of one of the stages.” — Maria Fernanda Zanusso, Senior Marketing Manager at Tinder for Latin America

Lollapalooza Brasil 2026 takes place at Autódromo de Interlagos in São Paulo. Music Mode is available now for all Tinder users.
