Ton Carfi steps into a deeply personal and romantic space with the release of his new EP “Cantares,” a project that blends faith, emotion, and contemporary R&B influences.
Released at midnight on Friday (12), the EP draws inspiration from the biblical book traditionally attributed to King Solomon. Known for its poetic exploration of love and intimacy, the text serves as the foundation for the five-track project.
A return to romantic R&B
With “Cantares,” Ton revisits his roots in romantic R&B, delivering smooth melodies and heartfelt lyrics. The songs “Amor é Pra Sempre,” “Não Tem Separação,” “Primeiro ‘Oi’,” “Deus me Deu Você, Aleluia,” and “Amar é Uma Escolha” navigate different stages of love.
Rather than presenting an idealized version of relationships, the EP embraces both the beauty and complexity of emotional connections, offering listeners a relatable and honest perspective.
Featured collaboration
One of the standout moments comes with “Deus me Deu Você, Aleluia,” featuring singer-songwriter Rebeca Carvalho. Known for tracks like “Até Te Encontrar” and “Abraão,” she brings a distinctive tone that enriches the duet.
The collaboration will also be the first track to receive an official music video, scheduled for release at noon on Valentine’s Day.
Faith and love intertwined
The concept behind “Cantares” reflects Ton Carfi’s view that spiritual teachings can also guide emotional and romantic life. The biblical reference becomes a bridge between faith and everyday relationships.
“When reading the Bible, I realized it offers guidance for every area of life — emotional, spiritual, financial, and also sentimental. There is even a romantic book called ‘Song of Songs,’ which inspired this project.”
This perspective shapes the EP’s identity, positioning it as both a musical and reflective experience.
A strategic release
Fully original, the project includes songwriting contributions from Rodrigo Oliveira and production by Felipe MusicMaker. It also represents a key step in Ton Carfi’s broader career strategy.
“Cantares” is the second release from Rocket Music Brazil, a label launched by the artist in early May. The initiative aims to spotlight emerging gospel artists while expanding his role in the industry.
