TVE Bahia airs this Sunday (23) at 7 p.m. a special program with Simone, honored at the 23rd Educadora FM Music Festival.
TVE Bahia will broadcast a special program this Sunday featuring Simone, one of the most iconic voices of Brazilian Popular Music. She is the honoree of the 23rd Educadora FM Music Festival, which celebrates her contribution to Brazilian music.
Throughout the program, Simone recalls important moments of her career, highlights unforgettable partnerships and comments on the tribute she receives this year. Over more than five decades of work, she released 31 studio albums and seven live recordings, marking Brazilian music with songs such as Jura Secreta, O Que Será, Começar de Novo, and Iolanda.
The singer has performed on major international stages, including the Montreux Jazz Festival, and was awarded the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023 for the significance of her artistic legacy.
Her career is also defined by memorable collaborations with artists such as Milton Nascimento, Chico Buarque, Ivan Lins, Tom Jobim, Pablo Milanés, and Zélia Duncan.
Simone will perform on December 7 at the Concha Acústica of Teatro Castro Alves, in Salvador, during the Festival’s award ceremony. The show will be broadcast live on Educadora FM Radio, TVE and social media.
The 23rd edition of the Festival is sponsored by Caixa Econômica Federal. Tickets at popular prices are available at the Teatro Castro Alves box office and on the Sympla website and app.
The Festival, the country’s largest award for original compositions, received 710 submissions in 2024 and will distribute R$ 408,000 among the 50 winners. Since 2016, it has honored major figures of Brazilian music, including Tom Zé, Elza Soares, Mateus Aleluia, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Maria Bethânia, Gal Costa, Nelson Rufino and Novos Baianos.
The special program with Simone will also be available on the broadcaster’s YouTube channel and on channel 222 of digital satellite dishes.
