On March 27, under the Borandá label, the legendary singer-songwriter of Brazil’s avant-garde scene unveils his new work. Blending irony and affection, Wandi offers a lyrical portrait of the city where he was born and built one of the most original careers in Brazilian music.

Co-produced by Swami Jr. and Danilo Moraes, the album reunites the creative team behind “Miolo Mole” (2017) and “Pronto!” (2003). “Having them with me again was essential — they embraced the album as their own,” says the artist.

“This album is my conversation with São Paulo — a city of countless nuances, using irony to comment on what’s not so charming,” says Wandi.

The album brings São Paulo to life as a complex and poetic character. It blends childhood memories, social tension, and urban humor, featuring special guests such as Marisa Orth, Fabiana Cozza, Cida Moreira, Zeca Baleiro, and Arrigo Barnabé.

At 72, Wandi remains full of energy and wit: “Over 70 with the body of a 32-year-old,” he jokes. His vast background in music, radio, and theater — including his long-running TV show “Bem Brasil” — enriches the scope of the new record.

“Um Passeio Paulista” is part of a Borandá project supported by the 2024 CULTSP PNAB program and ProAC. It invites listeners to slow down and rediscover São Paulo as a space of memory, art, and belonging.
