Distribution deal between Warner Music Brasil and Xaolin Records expands reach and supports emerging artists in the Brazilian urban scene.
Xaolin Records, a music label created by MC Hariel in São Paulo’s North Zone, begins a new expansion phase. The label signed a distribution agreement with Warner Music Brasil, through which all releases will be distributed by the label. The main goal is to expand the label’s structure, strengthen operations, and support the development of emerging independent artists in the urban scene.
Born from the peripheral experience and creative energy of contemporary Brazilian music, Xaolin Records started as a meeting space, then an artistic hub, eventually becoming a structured platform for music releases. The label remains true to its roots, built on authenticity, collective creation, and trust with artists who share the same aesthetic vision.
The deal with Warner marks the label’s maturity, expanding opportunities and offering professional support to creators at different stages of their careers. The record company brings reach, resources, technology, and global operations, scaling Xaolin without compromising its identity.
For Hariel, the founder, the agreement is historic: “It’s incredibly rewarding to embark on this journey with Warner, realizing a personal dream to do great things, bring new artists, connect them to the music scene, foster our culture and strengthen our movement. It’s a very important moment to count on a company with Warner’s size, resources and work,” he says.
Hariel, affectionately known as Haridade by fans, has a career paralleling the label’s growth. A leading name in Brazilian funk, he has over 4.3 billion audio streams, nearly 9 million monthly Spotify listeners, and massive social media engagement. With 7 albums, 1 EP, and numerous singles, Hariel has transformed his experiences into music while staying connected to his origins.
Recently, he was nominated for the 2025 Latin Grammy with “A Dança,” a collaboration with Gilberto Gil from the Funk Superação project. The track surpassed 71 million streams and views, placed Hariel in Brazil’s Top 15, Portugal’s Top 100, and achieved visibility on Viral Songs Global and Top Songs Brazil charts, reinforcing the symbolic impact of his work.
The partnership between Xaolin Records and Warner Music Brasil represents not only a strategic move but a new chapter for a label born in the favelas, grown through merit, and now structured to expand its global reach, boost artists, and strengthen the presence of peripheral aesthetics in the music market.
