The fourth round of Prelúdio airs this Sunday at noon, featuring young musicians from Paraíba, São Paulo and Rio, on TV Cultura.
This Sunday, November 30, at noon, the fourth qualifying round of Prelúdio airs. The program is hosted by maestro Júlio Medaglia and Roberta Martinelli. The broadcast is simultaneous on TV Cultura and Rádio Cultura FM.
Moreover, the classical music competition celebrates 20 years on air. The edition features young performers from different Brazilian states. Thus, it strengthens the national scope of the project.
Participants in the fourth round
From Paraíba, violinist Júlia Fernandes, 22, and euphonium player Raphael Soares, 24, take part. Júlia performs the first movement of the Symphonie Espagnole by Édouard Lalo. Raphael interprets Pantomime by Philip Sparke.
Representing São Paulo, trombonist João Marcos, 24, plays the first movement of the Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra by Launy Grondahl. From Rio de Janeiro comes pianist Yuri Bello, 23.
Yuri performs the first movement of Concerto No. 2 by Chopin. In this way, the repertoire brings together renowned classical works. The performances demand a high technical level.
Jury and award
The four young musicians compete for a scholarship at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Hungary. Their performances are judged by a specialized panel. The jury includes leading classical music professionals.
The jury consists of pianist Hércules Gomes; soprano Gabriella Pace; professor and oboist Joel Gisiger; and violist of the São Paulo City String Quartet and Rádio Cultura FM host, Marcelo Jaffé.
