Camaleão Dance Group ends the debut run of “Recriar” this Saturday (Nov 8), 11 a.m., at Praça da Liberdade.
The Camaleão Dance Group closes the debut season of “Recriar” this Saturday, November 8, with a free performance at Praça da Liberdade in Belo Horizonte. The piece is choreographed by Inês Amaral and Vanilton Lakka and was created in collaboration with the five dancers on stage.
A performance about encounter and listening
Designed for public spaces, “Recriar” was born from the desire to recover togetherness and listening in times of distance and speed. The work dives into the urgency of presence, inviting the audience to rediscover being together in a light and creative way.
The five performers — Dalton Walisson, Isabela Guerra, Ivo Igino, John Morais and Mariana Chalfum — explore, through movement and play, the power of simplicity and mutual awareness. The show promotes shared creation and collective coexistence.
“Collective creation is the essence of Recriar. Each performer brought their experiences and perceptions, building a work based on dialogue and respect,” says Inês Amaral.
“Performing in public spaces is both a political and poetic choice. We want to bring art to everyday places, breaking barriers between stage and street,” adds Marjorie Quast, general director and founder of the group.
Training and social engagement
The “Recriar” project also included free workshops held over six months for young dancers in training. The sessions featured participants from the Somos Group of the “Somos Comunidade” Project. The result, presented in “Encontro”, reflects the creative and transformative energy of the group’s educational work.
