Flamengo in Recopa: Nacional broadcasts live Thursday

On a three-game winning streak, Flamengo faces Lanús in Argentina in the 2026 Recopa first leg. Radio Nacional airs live from 9:15 PM (BRT).

Flamengo arrive on a high

Flamengo head into the 2026 Conmebol Recopa first leg in strong form. The Rio club knocked out rivals Botafogo away from home last Sunday (Feb. 15) and have since posted three straight wins — two in the Carioca Championship and one in the Brasileirão. Their target is to replicate their 2020 triumph and claim a second Recopa title. Hosts Lanús, on the other hand, are going through a rocky patch in the Argentine league, having gone three matches without a win. Still, the Buenos Aires province club will be motivated to claim their first-ever Recopa title on home soil at the Estadio Ciudad de Lanús.

Full coverage on Radio Nacional

Radio Nacional begins its broadcast at 9:15 PM (BRT) on Thursday, February 19, with kickoff scheduled for 9:30 PM. Coverage opens with the Show de Bola Nacional segment. Commentator André Luiz Mendes will handle play-by-play, with analysis from Carlos Molinari and pitch-side reporting by Bruno Mendes. The match will air across parts of the network on AM and shortwave (OC), FM in Rio de Janeiro, Alto Solimões, the National Public Communication Network (RNCP), and partner stations. Nacional FM in other markets will continue its regular music programming.

What is the Conmebol Recopa?

The Recopa Sudamericana is an annual Conmebol tournament that pits the previous season’s Copa Libertadores champion against the Copa Sudamericana winner in a two-legged showdown. The aggregate score decides the title; if level after both legs, the match goes to extra time and penalties.
Flamengo are aiming to repeat their 2020 feat and win their second Recopa Sudamericana title.

Nine decades of sports broadcasting

Brazil’s benchmark public broadcaster for sports coverage for nine decades, Radio Nacional carries the country’s top football competitions. Beyond radio, the team also appears on TV Brasil with the program Stadium, broadcast Monday–Friday at 12:30 PM and Tuesday–Friday at 6:30 PM. The daily newscast Repórter Brasil (12:45 PM and 7 PM) rounds out the sports offering.
