Setur-RJ and TurisRio highlight Rio’s tourism at Festuris 2025 in Gramado with an interactive stand and promotional activities.
The Rio de Janeiro State Tourism Secretariat (Setur-RJ) and TurisRio are among the highlights of the Festuris – International Tourism Festival, taking place in Gramado (RS) until November 9. The state presents a strong promotional strategy with a 66m² booth and several interactive and “instagrammable” experiences designed to engage visitors and industry professionals.
Promoting destinations and engaging visitors
The Rio de Janeiro booth offers an immersive experience in the state’s main attractions, using the reach of social media to enhance visibility. The themed areas allow visitors to create and share content, spreading the RIO tourism brand across digital platforms.
“Rio de Janeiro has an incredible diversity of attractions that go far beyond the capital. Being at Festuris with a structure like ours is essential to strengthen our image as a complete and diverse destination. We want to attract more visitors and showcase the beauty of our regions, from the coast to the mountains,” said Tourism Secretary Gustavo Tutuca.
Fornatur discusses progress on the “Tax Free” program
During the event, the National Forum of State Tourism Secretaries and Leaders (Fornatur) held a meeting focused on key topics for the sector, including the “Tax Free” program, which offers tax exemption to international tourists. The topic was presented by Rio’s Deputy Tourism Secretary, Nilo Sergio Felix, who highlighted the state’s progress in implementing the initiative.
“Implementing ‘Tax Free’ in Rio de Janeiro is crucial. We have completed all the necessary steps, and the bidding process is underway. Our goal is to have it operational before Carnival. This progress was made possible thanks to collaboration among states and approvals by Confaz and Fornatur,” said Nilo Felix.
The deputy secretary also pointed out the economic benefits of the measure, explaining that “although it’s a tax exemption, it returns five times the ICMS value in revenue.” Other states, such as Rio Grande do Norte, Minas Gerais, and Paraná, are also advancing discussions and implementation of the program.
